The senior forward averaged 24.1 points and 9.8 rebounds while helping Western Illinois win its first OVC tournament title. Nicastro also earned the league's basketball player of the year award and recorded 16 double-doubles.
Leathernecks close the season with a loss to Lindenwood
Western Illinois fell 91–69 after a 22-point halftime deficit proved too large to overcome. Danny Stephens scored 18 points off the bench, and Antwaun Massey added 15 as the Leathernecks finished 5–26.
Western Illinois falls at SIUE despite bench contributions
The Leathernecks lost 67–47 in Edwardsville, with Isaiah Griffin leading the team with 13 points. Western Illinois received 28 bench points but struggled with shooting and SIUE's advantage in the paint.
