UMBC will host Morgan State on November 13 in the women's opening round of the new 410 Invitational. Loyola Maryland and Towson complete the local field, with Towson hosting the championship round.

UMBC graduate DJ Armstrong Jr. signed with the Greensboro Swarm, Charlotte's NBA G League affiliate. The America East Tournament MVP moves into professional basketball after helping the Retrievers win the conference championship.
UMBC opens new season with two home games
The Retrievers begin against Stevenson on November 2 before hosting Mount St. Mary's in the America East–Metro Challenge. Their schedule also includes trips to Pittsburgh and Maryland, with conference play opening at Binghamton.

The Retrievers open the regular season at George Mason on November 2 and visit Big Ten opponents Ohio State and Iowa. UMBC begins its America East title defense at home against NJIT on January 2.
Sean Neal joins Jim Ferry's coaching staff
UMBC hired Sean Neal as an assistant coach after nine seasons at St. Bonaventure, including four as associate head coach. His tenure there included Atlantic 10 regular-season and tournament championships and an NCAA Tournament appearance.
Women's basketball players recognized at UMBC's Gritty Awards
UMBC's annual Gritty Awards included team honors for women's basketball. Jade Tillman received the team's Most Valuable Player award, while Alaina Williams was recognized as Most Improved Player at the department's season-ending celebration.
