SoCon Fast Break visited Tennessee Tech for a look inside the men’s basketball program. The feature follows offseason activity and preparations for the approaching season as the Golden Eagles enter a new conference.
Tennessee Tech announced an October 3 workout and fan gathering followed by an October 22 tip-off dinner. Team introductions and autographs are part of the first event as the program prepares for its inaugural SoCon season.
The Golden Eagles open at Butler on November 2 and host Emory & Henry three days later. Missouri, Middle Tennessee and a Thanksgiving trip to the U.S. Virgin Islands feature in the nonconference schedule.
Tennessee Tech opens at Mississippi State on November 2 under new head coach Tobin Anderson. The schedule includes visits to Indiana and Arizona, while Samford comes to Cookeville for Tech’s December 5 SoCon opener.
Tennessee Tech starts conference play at ETSU on December 29 before its first league home game against Chattanooga on January 9. The Golden Eagles will host eight SoCon contests during their first season in the conference.
Tennessee Tech paid tribute to former basketball and tennis coach Connie Inman, who died at 91. He led the men’s basketball team from 1969 to 1976 and coached future professionals Wayne Pack and Frank Jones.
