East Texas A&M opens Southland play at SFA on December 5 before visiting Lamar. Southeastern Louisiana and McNeese come to Commerce for the first home conference games as the league retains its 22-game format.
East Texas A&M begins conference play at Lamar on December 3 before a four-game home stretch. McNeese, Southeastern Louisiana, LSU New Orleans and Nicholls visit Commerce as the Lions move through the expanded holiday calendar.
East Texas A&M earned WBCA special mention with a 3.53 team GPA for 2025-26. The school reported the highest GPA among Southland teams and a national ranking of 71st for its women’s basketball program.
Noah Pagotto earned the Southland’s men’s basketball student-athlete-of-the-year award. London Fields joined him on the all-academic team, giving East Texas A&M multiple selections for the first time during its Division I era.
Alva Hedrich, Cora Horvath and Nina Horvath earned Southland All-Academic recognition. The announcement highlighted their classroom work and court participation, including Hedrich’s mathematics degree and role in the Lions’ return to the conference tournament.
Noah Pagotto received CSC Academic All-District honors after appearing in 32 games for the Lions. The electrical engineering major averaged 10.4 points and 5.7 rebounds while also earning a place on the university’s President’s List.
